I just got done viewing the 5 minutes to a Perfect Golf Swing video and now wish I had spent the $25.00 I paid for the video on a nice golf shirt or maybe dinner with my wife.
I've been playing golf for a couple of years and was intrigued by the notion that a perfect swing could be taught in 5 minutes, so I bought the video out of curiosity to see what secret I was missing out on. Mistake. There is no "big secret" and the quality of the video is extremely poor - I agree with a prior review that it looks like it was made in someone's basement. More surprising to me was that the instructor never actually demonstrated his swing technique by hitting some real golf balls. In fact, he never even placed a ball down in front of him. I'm a visual learner - that's why I bought a video - and I could have gotten just as much out of this had I bought an audio tape.
If you're a relative beginner like myself, save the dough and go get yourself some lessons. If you feel like you need to buy a video, get the Tao of Golf. It goes over basic swing mechanics quite well, is much better produced, and the guy actually hits quite a few balls for you so you can see his swing in action and attempt to mimick it when you get to the practice range.

Originally produced specifically for pupils, this video is a "hard-core" in-studio presentation of serious discrete details and concepts usually omitted from more glitzy high-end video productions featuring attractive golfers and pretty swings. It will disappoint those looking for "pretty", because it was not produced for general mass appeal but to convey EXTREMELY specific details, minute adjustments, principles of motion and release, and other items considered "NQR" [not quite right] and "NQEI" [not quite enough information]often encountered in many well financed productions by well known golfers and teachers.Mr. Hibbard uses this video FIRST for ALL his pupils, whether they are new to the game or already advanced golfers, because of the precision and thoroughness of the details and subtleties needing to be addressed for advanced levels of ball-striking and golfing excellence.
