I'm just starting kite boarding, and despite six hours of instruction, these videos have a ton of information that I didn't get in training. I think they're very well done, lots of good info, and way cheaper than more hours of instruction.

Ippo and Sendo go at it one more time with Sendo's Japan Featherweight Championship Belt at statke. Sendo was looking to erase memories of his loss to Ippo in this match and prove to everyone that he was the best featherweight in Japan. This had to be the longest and best fight of the entire series in my opinion. You can't help but get sucked into the fight. This was a great finish to a great series.

Take Down (1979) (1979)

Probably the only thing Lorenzo Lamas has done that I was able to take seriously, Takedown is a solid portrayal of a lower working-class teen trying to balance attending high-school with the need to work in order to help support his family. Maureen McCormick plays a classmate who Lamas hopes to...er...'take down'(hee hee). No, actually it's a bittersweet movie about growing up among the have-nots, but finding that what you need was within yourself all along (or some Hallmark card-inspired nonsense like that). Might as well purchase it on VHS, since the likelihood of it ever getting updates to dvd is essentially nil.

This is the best box set out there I would say, except maybe 1-10.
Genki Sudo in the octagon alone makes this worth it, but the number of classic fights in this era are truly staggering.
Lawler vs. Tiki, Lawler vs. Spratt, Hughes vs. Newton, Cabbage vs. Sylvia, Shamrock vs. Tito (Which is the fight that started this whole new UFC revolution if you ask me), Chuck vs. Babablu, the list goes on.
I'd say if you could find it, get it.

I've suffered from PMS for as long as I can remember and I was really looking forward to trying this DVD. I have seen many exercise DVDs, but I have never seen one that targets PMS symptoms specifically like this one does. The instructor talks you through proper form and the benefits of each exercise. I like knowing how each exercise will help me and I did feel better afterwards, and best of all, I got a great workout!

Cold Steel Warriors Edge Dvd Review

Cold Steel Warriors Edge Dvd
Average Reviews:

Disregard the review of the "a reader from Illinois". Other than their tasteless attacks on the moral integrity and character of Instructor Thompson, their review is simply the views of a mind twisted by beliefs that aggressors lives have equal value to that of the victim, and that only police forces have the rights to intercept occurring crimes with lethal force. Simply put, the view of the typical socialist, who does not believe that one has the right to defend their life, liberties or properties. I am quite certain that this "reader" feels that a woman or possible lone bystander must simply allow said woman to be raped by a group of unarmed men, simply because they do not intend to kill her and do not possess a weapon. Anyone with any shred of sanity who realises that sometimes you are the only one that can save you, will greatly appreciate this no nonsense approach to street fighting with a blade and I make a special mention that this is perfect for women.
Despite his allegedly "uneducated" accent, courtesy of our friend "reader", Instructor Thompson provides an incredibly detailed insight to the world of realistic knife fighting. This DVD set covers absolutely everything you could possibly need in a dire situation in regards to long ranged knife fighting. I especially liked how he would explain why what he is teaching you is so important. For example, he makes it clear that unlike many combat situations, footwork is more vital than any other aspect. He goes on to explain that provided your knife is shaving sharp (which he discusses in depth also, with a particularly unsettling story that occurred involving a blunt blade to prove the point), no strength is require and therefore being able to move fast on the feet to evade, retreat and pursue are more important. I found this nice as it motivates you to do things which are otherwise tiresome and lead you to neglect them. I also love how he provides activities and ideas to incorporate the techniques into interesting, effective drills.
Other great aspects of this DVD set include additional knowledge and skills not taught in knife fighting schools. For example, he goes on to teach you techniques using the point of a blade, which he mentions is often neglected in most arts. And clearly what our biased little friend must have missed for his review is that Instructor Thompson does teach less-than-lethal tactics. One such occasion, Instructor Thompson clearly states the aim of learning the tactic of dragging the point of a blade on an aggressor is not to seriously injury or kill them, but to cause them pain and instill enough fear to encourage them to cease attacking you.
I have more than a decade of martial experience, and I speak from experience that this DVD set is the most bang for your buck when you compare the knowledge given to you at the price you pay. Everything is easy to learn, uncomplicated to execute and from what I have gathered in sparring works a treat. It is designed to work in the real world, regardless of your strength, sex or age. I cannot recommend anything better than this, and I cannot understand why you would bother looking anywhere else. You will not find anything better than this, period. I can absolutely guarantee that if you are serious about realistic self-defense, you will be thoroughly impressed and well equipped to survive.

WWE Vengeance 2002: Quick & Merciless (2002) Review

WWE Vengeance 2002: Quick and Merciless (2002)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is easily the hardest WWE DVD I've ever tried to find, but it was worth the 40 bucks I spent on it. The "Vengeance" PPVs from the WWE are always an entertaining event, but this 2002 edition is the absolute best of them all! Read on...
Bubba Ray and Spike Dudley take on then-recently returned Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit in a Table Match. This is a strange contest, because only one man is supposed to be in the ring at once, yet there are no DQs. However, this makes for some good Tag Team wrestling, especially from Benoit and Eddie. If you go in expecting a Tag Team match w/ less focus on Table spots, you're in for a solid experience. (7.5/10)
Jamie Noble defends the Cruiserweight Championship against Billy Kidman in an excellent contest. There's little-to-no involvement from Nidia, which lets these two great light-heavyweights put on a spectacular show. Not quite as good as their "Survivor Series 2002" matchup, but so what? (8.5/10)
The worst match is William Regal challenging Jeff Hardy for the now-shelved European Championship. The backstory is Regal cries when he loses his recent matches, which is an amusing setup. But both men are sloppy, and frankly don't look very good in this one. Could've been worthwhile, but just poorly executed. (4.0/10)
Now for some nostalgia, Chris Jericho accepts pre-thug John Cena's challenge for a "SmackDown" rematch. This is a solid contest between the rookie Cena (he was only w/ WWE for a month at the time) and Jericho. It isn't going to blow anyone's socks off, but it reminds me that Cena can freestyle-wrestle when given the chance. Won't shut up Cena's detractors, but maybe this will calm us down a bit. (6.5/10)
Rob Van Dam and Brock Lesnar compete for RVD's Intercontinental Championship in a King-of-the-Ring 'rematch', of sorts. The Michigan crowd is wild not just for RVD, but also for this fast-paced, hard-hitting blockbuster! I don't want to give away the ending, but it might disappoint some fans. But I forgive the decision because RVD and Lesnar kept battling it out w/ weapons afterwards. Also, the finish 'maintained' both men's careers. Tied with the main event for the best match on the card! (9.0/10)
While in the new nWo, Big Show and Booker T began a feud, and got booked for this PPV match. Vince McMahon then disbanded the nWo after some roster setbacks, yet this match stayed on the card. Booker and Show put on a No Disqualifications Match that's never boring, but not particularly good. However, there are some neat spots, and it won't take up much of your time. (5.5/10)
One huge attraction of this PPV isn't even a match at all. Triple H must choose a brand to wrestle for. It becomes an entertaining in-ring segment that was built-up for weeks, and came to a conclusion here. Without giving away too much, HHH rips on both Eric Bischoff (RAW GM) and Stephanie McMahon (SD GM and "ex-wife"), and everyone is entertaining while on the mike. To my pleasant surprise, this promo is worth the PPV airtime.
The next match is Christian & Lance Storm challenging Edge & Hollywood Hulk Hogan for the Tag Team Championships (the only belts at the time). The Un-American angle was a good one, and having Hogan/Edge win the titles on July 4th 2002 was also cool. So, this feud had a nice two-week build-up. As for the actual contest, Hogan is up to his usual tricks, while the other guys do most of the work. What can I say? Somehow Hogan is forgiven for his lack of participation. The tag team action could've been better, but the crowd is great, there's some neat interference, and the match is still worth a viewing. (6.5/10)
In the main event, the tremendous feud between The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and The Rock came to a close in this energetic Triple Threat Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship (there was only one title back then). This is a rare example of chaotic buildup resulting in an even more frenetic match. I don't agree when Jim Ross yells, "greatest Triple Threat I've ever seen", but it's darn close. Stolen finishers, non-stop action, false finishes left-and-right, crazy crowd...this match just about has it all! It's missing the indescribable something to make the match perfect, but all three of these men deserved to win the title, making this main event a forgotten classic! (9.0/10)
OVERALL
To complement the strong PPV card, there are some neat Extras on the DVD:
* Hogan and Edge's Tag Team Title victory (solid match)
* Trust Company's music video of the PPV theme (good song)
* "WWE Confidential" coverage of Eric Bischoff (good stuff)
* Post-match interviews (more good promos)
The "Vengeance" PPVs have established a good legacy with the WWE PPV lineup. The first Undisputed Champion ('01), the PPV return of Kurt Angle ('03), two show-stealing title matches ('05), the return of DX ('06)...these events are always entertaining.
But this is the definitive "Vengeance"!
I don't give 5 stars to WWE PPVs or DVDs very often.
You may have to dish out some money for it, but with good Extras and an even better wrestling card, "Vengeance 2002" is worth it.

When this film was made in 1961, a material almost identical to Flubber was being developed by NASA for the Gemini Space Program. To avoid a threat to our national security, the release of "The Absent-Minded Professor" was delayed for six months until Walt Disney agreed to delete two scenes showing Fred MacMurray discussing its applications and uses. The missing scenes have been restored in magnificent color, and the movie seems to have a better flow than the theatrical version.

Siestas & Olas - A Surfing Journey Through Mexico Review

Siestas and Olas - A Surfing Journey Through Mexico
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Following the documentary formula crafted in 1964 in "Endless Summer", this film takes 2 surfers and a second-hand Chevy Suburban down to Mexico for a surfing safari to discover the best surfing spots the country has to offer. Along the way, they make new friends and hook up with old friends and generally just drive, surf, eat, surf, sleep, and then surf some more.
Watching this movie is like watching someone's Summer vacation film, but with better camera work, better scenery, more action, better jokes, and this time the vacation is actually entertaining and fun to watch. And the Mexican tunes used for the soundtrack really makes you feel like you're there, sitting on the beach listening to someone strum a guitar as the boys surf the shorebreak. Surf fans will enjoy the action shots; everybody else will enjoy the story.
No nudity (well, except when the boys lose a bet and must wear a T-back bikini on the beach), no profanity, no blood (except for when one of the guys finds a rock in the surf with his head), and no harsh language. Nothing offensive (unless you're offended by the site of a 8' longboard split in two by the force of a wave). A good film for everyone to enjoy.

2002 Tour De France 10 hr Review

2002 Tour De France 10 hr
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you are a bike racing fan, a Lance Armstrong Fan, a Tour de France fan, or all three, which I am, this will be a great addition to your DVD library. Watching bike racing for anyone else is like the proverbial drying paint, but while you are on the trainer or rollers, this is what you want playing on the tube. Lance is on top of his game in 2002, asserting his authority whenever necessary, and being the consummate sportsman throughout. He wins when he needs to, doesn't when he doesn't need to, all the time seemingly almost without effort. The sport hasn't seen domination of the peloton like this since the Eddie Merckx was at his best. The only downside of this is that there is little question as to the eventual outcome, and consequently less drama to the whole affair. One cannot help but be awed by his demonstration of athleticism in this Tour.
The coverage of the race presented in this set is variable. The flat stages are often condensed to a few minutes, with just the final sprint shown. Most of the time is devoted to the big mountain stages. I think this is as it should be, because those stages have the most drama, and always determine the outcome of the race, but I was surprised to see continuous, minute-by-minute coverage of the final 30 minutes or so of some of the big climbs. Waiting for the outcome of one of these stages, I had to keep pedaling the trainer for an hour and half. This is not a criticism, just a comment on what to expect.
I have to admit disappointment with much of the commentation by Phil Leggett and Paul Sherwin. I usually enjoy them both, and they are certainly the best in the business, but I found this sound track tedious - their overuse of superlatives (especially the word 'absolutely', which seems to be in every other comment.) Every time some minor rider made a move, he was 'Absolutely doing the ride of his life', even if his break lasted 2 minutes, and he ended up bonking at the back of the peloton later. Every mountain descent was done at '90 kilometers per hour'. I've been riding and racing for decades, and believe that to be a pure exaggeration. Exaggeration characterizes most of the commentation, and is my major criticism of the coverage. It may not, however, diminish the enjoyment of this set by the average racing fan. I hesitate to give any criticism, especially since coverage like this of the tour wasn't available in any form just a decade ago; we cycling fans were forced to watch ridiculous, american network produced coverage with commentators who barely knew which end of the bike to point down the road, distilled into hour-long segments covering a full week of the tour. Having a full ten hours with expert commentation and superb cinematography is indeed a dream come true.
'Absolutely' add this to your collection of Tour coverages. You will 'absolutely' enjoy it. Then watch it in small segments so you don't feel like turning the audio off.

With a stunning win in the 2002 Tour de France, Armstrong became the fourth cyclist ever to win four consecutive Tours. This Tour is marked with stunning break-aways, brilliant attacks, and an extraordinary effort by Postal. A win in the prologue time trial signals Lance's plans to win, but a wild first week ensues. When he loses the Stage 9 time trial to Kelme's Botero, many believe Armstrong has slipped. But he answers the critics on the first day in the Pyrenees. Roberto Heras devastates the field with a powerful pace on the climb to LaMongie. Near the summit, Armstrong jumps clear for a stage win and a lead he'll never relinquish. Lance wins the next stage, too, but not before swashbuckling star Laurent Jalabert launches a stunning breakaway. Ja-Ja fails to win, but he keeps attacking on Stages 16 and 17. ONCE battles to find a chink in the Postal armor, but the boys in blue dominate the race to the end in what Lance calls the year of the team. Lance caps the race with a convincing victory in the final time trial. With commentary and analysis from Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwin, and Gary Imlach, the 2002 Tour de France is an instant WCP classic!
