The Ultimate fighter is no ordinary reality show. This show is a story is about a sport of strength, emotion, strategy and the overall drive to push ones-self beyond personal limitations. It is the dream of so many young and men to compete in front of millions of people getting paid to do what they love.
The Ultimate Fighter is based around the relatively new sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). It pulls unknown brawlers from around the globe with a wide variety of specializations, training, and of course differing world views which pit the fighters against each other. There are two coaches that are both established in the sport and their personal coaching team, and they are tasked with taking the motley crew that is given to them and molding them with discipline, exercise training into an ultimate fighter (SPIKE, 2010).
The first show of every season begins with 28 hungry fighters fighting to earn their place in the house, meaning they have earned the chance to compete on the show for the rest of the season. It is from these winners that the coaches get to pick their teams to coach for the season (SPIKE, 2010).
Over the season viewers gets to watch, root for, and cringe with their favorite new fighters as they push on through their personal struggles to be the best of their peers. For those strong enough or lucky enough, to make to the finals after 15 weeks there will be only four left with the chance of fulfilling their dreams. That dream is to be the ultimate fighter which includes a six-figure contract with UFC.
