(More customer reviews)I recently placed an order for the 1991 NCAA Divison 1 Women's National Championship DVD. I actually was on the Wisconsin soccer team that played in this game. I was so excited to find the game on DVD, as the only record I had of the game was a VHS tape that's not in great shape due to age and being watched several times. I assumed that the DVD would be digital quality, or at the least, similar quality to the original VHS recording that I made.
When we got the DVD, I popped it in and was shocked to see how horrible the quality of the picture was. The only thing you can see is the ball--you can hardly read the numbers on the jerseys to see who is who and there are white lines scrolling down the screen. It's really completely unwatchable. It's almost as if someone took a sub-standard video camera and filmed a bad reproduction off of a TV screen and then marketed it as a DVD.
It's unbelievable that someone could actually sell this unprofessional reproduction for any amount, let alone $24.99. I am surprised that the NCAA would allow their name to be put on this. And I would bet money that if anyone at Amazon watched a few minutes of this, they would agree that they should not be selling it. I can't imagine that anyone who has purchased this has actually been satisfied with the purchase.
For the record, I am not one of those people that always writes in to complain about stuff like this (this is actually my first review of any product I've purchased). But this is just SO bad that I had to write in in hopes that it could save others the 25 bucks.
I hope that somewhere out there, there is a better copy of the game. I would really like my kids to be able to see their mom in her glory days.
