These are the complete broadcasts of all 7 games played between the Minnesota Twins and St. Louis Cardinals in the 1987 World Series - 4 games in the Metrodome and 3 games in Busch Stadium. The quality of the broadcasts is very nice, with the exception of the sound during parts of Games 6 & 7. During the first 2.5 innings of Game 6 the sound is really bad and, while not as bad as Game 6, the sound during the first 6.5 innings of Game 7 isn't very good. Al Michaels, Tim McCarver, and Jim Palmer do the call on all 7 games.
I'm a little bit surprised that this set was released before the 1991 Twins vs. Braves series because 3 of these games weren't competitive. Also, it was very cold in Busch Stadium for games 3 & 4, so the crowd enthusiasm is somewhat low. All in all, it's a great trip down memory lane to watch these games again. Let's hope that the good folks at A&E continue to release more and more games in the future.

Team Canada Skills of Gold: Vol. 2 Review

Team Canada Skills of Gold: Vol. 2
Average Reviews:

I have about 20 hockey skills videos I have accumulated in the last few years, but none of them compare to this video. The video in the this 4 disc set clearly illustrate how teams should play together. The first video covers team offense and various ways a team can enter the zone and attack off the rush. It discusses when to dump and chase and explains why the second forward should drive hard to the net to force the defense back leaving the third forward open. And it discusses isolating a defender to create a 2-on-1 situation and proper puck support. The second video is all about proper defensive play - positioning and responsibilities of the defenders and the forwards. This video also illustrates proper defensive reads and plays during a breakout based on time and space. It also discusses the defender without the puck supporting a puck carrying defender (reading the situation and knowing where to be). The third video is by far the best. Covers team play. The third video is worth the price of the 4-disc set by itself. It shows how the offense and defense have to play as a unit with everyone moving up and down the ice together in a system. Covers 2-1-2 forecheck and 1-2-2 forecheck in detail=(offensive zone and neutral zone). Video clips are typically shown a couple of times to illustrate the concepts with narrator explaining what is going on. I haven't watched the 4th disc yet, but I can say that this set is worth the money. I have watched videos 1-3 at least 4 times each and continue to learn more each time I watch. Video quality is excellent and you could easily use these videos in off ice sessions with your team to show them what you are trying to teach them. If there was a 6th star I could give this video set I would.

ADVANCED SPEY with John and Amy Hazel (2008) Review

ADVANCED SPEY with John and Amy Hazel (2008)
Average Reviews:

John & Amy Hazel demonstrate how to dial in exactly the right length and weight of shooting head for your two-handed rod and show you how easy it is to make effortless, monster casts with these hot new lines.
I have a 14', 9 weight and a 12'6", 7 weight rod set up with the Vision Ace heads used in this DVD and they are a real pleasure to cast. It requires a different casting stroke than the traditional spey style, but it's much easier to learn and you'll pick it up in no time. I have several spey casting videos and this is the only one that shows you how to get the perfect line match for your rod, which is critical. Highly recommended.

I've watched the first 9 innings numerous times and this series is by far my favorite sports documentary. If your a baseball fan and have never watched this it is an absolute must watch it will give you a whole new perspsective on the game especially if you are younger like me (25).
Just an FYI the 2010 box set comes with the 10th inning. I don't know why Amazon has them available as a "frequently bought together" combo order but I just wanted to give you guys the heads up just buy this box set and you'll get all 10 innings plus the bonus features which include 2.5 hours of deleted scenes and additional interviews. Check the PBS site for a picture of the box set and it clearly states it includes the 10th inning and the run time and disc count are identical to what's on here.

Fade to Black: No Gi Chokes Review

with this dvd coming from a member of the 10th planet jiu jitsu, i was def expecting some innovative & effective techniques...& to my suprise, i was not disapointed at all. Here this dvd shows six deifferent types of no-gi chokes that will def catch your partners off guard & tapping faster than you can imagine. the dvd shows about 15 - 20 types of set-ups for the specific chokes on each dvd (there are 3dvds total) and shows from multiple angles and multiple replays...and you can go straight to the specific technique that you want to watch so you can re-watch the choke to pratice yourself. All in all this is a pretty good investment in instructional dvds on no-gi..and for the type of chokes shown here, you might not find these in any other dvds around for a while. ( believe me i tried searching You-tube)with that being said, if money is a issue, you could try finding a friend with a copy to see for yourself but you won't be disapointed if you took a deep breath & just see for yourself. Btw if you're curious as to learn more of the 10th planet system, check out eddie bravo's "MASTERING THE TWISTER & MASTERING THE RUBBER GUARD BOOK & DVD SET"

This is a great video for a beginning gymnast. My daughter is able to practice the moves while watching the video. I know nothing about gymnastics and being a parent of a gymnast, it showed me from the beginning what my child is learning which enables me to help my child practice at home.

The Complete Collection of Sweatin' to the Oldies (2008) Review

The Complete Collection of Sweatin' to the Oldies (2008)
Average Reviews:

Think "Aerobics for Dummies." Richard gets you off the couch and inspires you like no one else can. This workout is truly fun. The live band is great, and such a refreshing change from the recorded 'sound-alike' tracks that are so commonplace today. He uses a spectrum of people as cast members, from those who are aerobics teachers to those just 'getting started.' The routines are easy to follow, and not too strenuous for those who are trying to lose weight and get into shape.
The routines get progressively difficult through the series (Sweatin' 1, 2, 3, 4), so buy the whole set. It's a great price, and will provide with you with that jump start to fitness!
