The CKY box set is absolutley excellent. You really have to like this kinda stuff coz some of it is quite nasty. If you dont like jackass and the like you will hate this. This stuff is great for watching with your friends believe me you will be in tears laughing. The skits and stunts are excellant, the skateboarding stuff is alright but if your like me ,not a fan of skating, you'll find these parts of the videos boring. The soundtrack is mostly done by the band Camp Kill Yourself aka CKY..Video four ,the documentary, isnt as good as the other videos. But all in all I would really really recomend these videos to you die hard jackass fans out there!

cky 3 (2002) Review

cky 3 (2002)
Average Reviews:

CKY 3 is no where near as funny as the second edition to the series. The first one (in my opinion) was no where near as funny as this one. This one felt like it was leaning too much towards "I just wanna gross you out just to gross you out" and not towards "I wanna make you laugh so hard you pass out". CKY2K is most-definetely the funniest one. So if you want to see a video that makes you laugh so hard you pass out buy CKY2K if you wanna a video thats more adult and grosser buy CKY 3.

Blu-Ray Race Across the Sky 2010 Review

Blu-Ray Race Across the Sky 2010
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I don't write reviews for items on Amazon (though I should, because I find myself reading alot of them.) I rarely participate in customer surveys or anything of the nature, but when I saw the fact that the DVD for Race Across the Sky 2010 had been released a few days ago and still didn't have any reviews, I thought I'd share my opinion of the movie.
I watched this film "live" during the simulcast back in the fall. Until then I had not seen the first movie, I'd only had it described to me by a fellow rider on a group ride a few weeks earlier. I have limited interest in mountain biking (I am an obsessive road bike rider), but the idea of watching a live simulcast on a weekday after work seemed like a good plan. My wife went along for the ride, and shortly before the movie she admitted that she was kind of dreading the idea of sitting in a movie about a mountain bike race for 2 hours (she's a recreational road biker who really dislikes riding off road) She would not regret her decision to tag along with me for this movie.
For as many times as I managed to catch her with a an awestruck look on her face and a tear in her eye, I found myself in the exact same predicament. This film is moving. Breathtaking, painful, and above all, inspiring. Unlike "Race Across the Sky 2009" this movie isn't as much about the "racing" as it is about the people who are riding in the "race". Yes, Levi is a cycling deity, you can guess he'll finish well. Dave Wiens is a staple of the race, so of course he'll be featured. What you aren't prepared for is the story of the people in the middle of the pack, or the heartbreak of the riders getting turned away at the 9 hour mark, and the triumph of the riders who roll in with just seconds to go on the clock. I have never been so moved by a sports documentary... and there are few films I can think of that have had such a positive effect on me.
On our way home after the simulcast (the theater let out around 10PM EST) my wife and I babbled manically about the movie until she finally made the statement that really sums up how this movie makes you feel. She said, "I just want to go home and pedal." As a sufferer of Juvenile Onset Rheumatoid Arthritis (on aggressive Remicaid treatment since she was 23), she can understand dealing with physical adversity and trying to maintain a positive attitude. The people in this film will inspire you, motivate you, and the visuals will leave you gasping for breath.
I don't review movies, nor do I spend much time typing out my thoughts, so I apologize if this review is a little amateurish. I primarily wanted to give my opinions on the film to try to help influence someone trying to decide to purchase, or at least watch "Race Across the Sky 2010" If you like being alive, watch this movie.

King of the Hills: Southern Hills 2007 PGA Championship Review

King of the Hills: Southern Hills 2007 PGA Championship
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
To understand the significance of Tiger's win at Southern Hills, one must first absord the entire lead up to what amounted to perhaps Woods greatest achievement. Tiger was in position at Augusta, at the Masters, on Easter Sunday, with a chance to win the whole deal. However, for the first time in his career he failed to answer the bell as Zach Johnson instead took his first Major Championship. You'll remember the infamous SI cover with Tiger breaking his club on a tree after a poorly executed shot out of the woods. It was a frustrating defeat to say the least.
Next came the US Open at legendary Oak Mont. Again, Tiger was in position on the Sunday of a Major and was unable to close the deal. What made this a particularly painful loss was the fact that there was an oppurtunity to win for his late Father Earl Woods who had passed away in 2006. As well, Tiger really played one of his greatest rounds of golf in the 3rd round when he hit on 15/18 greens in regulation. If you were watching that day, I'm sure you were thinking just as I was that he was going to seal the deal the next day. When it ended, it just didn't seem fair.
At the British Open at Carnoustie, Tiger lost it completely. He struggled through his first two rounds of golf and then at the start of his 3rd round he attempted to recapture the magic of Hoy Lake, where he left his driver in the bag. Well, his first shot ended up in the hazard, without trying to over power and use the driver. After the shot he looked about as lost as I have ever seen him and I became a fan of Tigers in the midst of his Majorless drought, so I have seen his struggles, saw them for a long time before I saw him win. Carnoustie was a wash.
Southern Hills. Sight of the 2001 US Open. So you know it's a difficult course. Southern Hills. Jack never won there. Woods and Nicklaus so similar and many believed that Tigers game didn't suit Southern Hills. It wasn't a bombers course. Not only did Tiger intellectually maneuver through the course, he used his super fit body to help him survive the over 100 degree heat, ALL 4 DAYS. His Legendary round on 62 1/2 (officially 63) on the par 70 would be the difference in the championship. However, the way he saved himself in rd 1 from being completely out of it cannot be ignored and his solid play in the 3rd was important as well. The Final Rd was an excellent example of controlled golf. At one time holding a 5 shot lead then watching it dwindle to 1 and having the grace and confidence to catch yourself before you fall completely and work the lead back to 2 and that ending up as the final margin, Woods -8, runner-up Woody Austin -6. Tiger was brilliant.
This Major kept him on track and re-affirmed that he is the most intelligent and fittest golfer on the planet. This may just have been his greatest performance and this dvd is a perfectly dosed out serving of another Masterpiece by Woods. 60 minutes of execellent highlights and perspective.
This is my favorite Tiger victory along with his win at Augusta in 2005, you know "The Chip!" year? The win for Pops. This PGA Championship was also the first Major that Sam, Tigers daugter attended. In his words "She's 1 for 1."

Go Swim Breaststroke with Amanda Beard Review

Go Swim Breaststroke with Amanda Beard

This dvd is about 6 focus points of powerful breastroke: streamlining whilst gliding, pointing toes to the sides and then kick, closing feet together after kicking thus hiding it before the next cycle of kicking, jumping up and front to get the maximum head pull, dive to the front rather than down thus channeling energy to the front, and wide and fast armstroke.
But to be fair, Amanda stated that some of the techniques are especially her own style and not for everybody.
This video has helped me in achieving fast breastroke, fast enough to challenge a decent freestylist at 50m just by applying fast start-up, powerful kick and streamlining, and with just an average of 8 strokes per 25m length.

Freestyle: Made Easy Review

Freestyle: Made Easy

The book (Total Immersion: The Revolutionary Way To Swim Better, Faster, and Easier) and DVD aren't completely aligned, but do supplement each other well. Actually, I probably wouldn't recommend the DVD without the book.
There are two extremes of swimmers that would likely be interested in this swim method: complete beginners looking to start swimming and experienced swimmers looking to examine this method. Like most, I was somewhere in the middle (after being told by a swim coach that I looked like I was being electrocuted in the water, I thought that this relaxed style of swimming would be a good remedy).
Beginners will instantly see the value; it starts at the very beginning with active floating. Experienced swimmers will need to be prepared to start at the very beginning as well, as Terry Laughlin (correctly) sees a need to break down established patterns of movement in order to build new muscle memory.
My freestyle has become significantly more relaxed. Of course, I still have a long way to go to becoming a proficient distance swimmer (practice, practice, practice), but this video has helped eliminate a lot of bad habits so that the practice is actually beneficial.
One criticism (aside from the somewhat cheesy production): proper flutter kick is nearly ignored. Although it's not the primary source of propulsion for efficient swimmers (e.g., Terry only kicks once per stroke), it's still a significant supplement when wanting to swim fast. It would have been nice to see it addressed more in the video.

FREESTYLE MADE EASY - THE TOTAL IMMERSION SYSTEMTotal Immersion: Freestyle Made Easy illustrates everything about freestyleswimming - how to kick efficiently; every part of the stroke - entry, catch, finish, exit and recovery; how to breathe - in the pool and in openwater; and how to do both the relaxing open turn and the fast flip turn. Toallow you to study all of this carefully, the DVD uses more views (surface, underwater, front, and directly overhead), more slow-motion and more stopaction than any DVD produced before. Since 1989, Total Immersion Swimminghas become a phenomenon among improvement-minded swimmers - the firstprogram in the history of swimming instruction with "raving fans." TI hasbecome so popular because it is simpler than any alternative; it works withunprecedented dependability and it makes swimming enjoyable and deeplysatisfying. Go Swim Sprint Freestyle with Roland Schoeman Review

Go Swim Sprint Freestyle with Roland Schoeman

I'm a Masters swimmer who competes mainly in freestyle short distances, so I got this DVD with a hope to get new ideas on how to improve my stroke and this DVD filled its purpose.
What I liked About the DVD -
- His stroke is broken down logically from what Roland does with his hands to how he moves his legs. The video is filmed well, and you see the stroke from all angles.
- The keys to Roland's stroke are easy to remember as you try to implement them at the pool
- I loved all the bonus features, such as his favorite drills, slow motion of break outs and turns and the interview. Very useful.
- The video was a perfect length time-wise. I could watch it in one sitting and not get bored.
Few Things That I think Can Be Improved -
- The music. All throughout the video you hear the same song repeated time after time after time, and after few minutes, it's irritating.
- I wish the video broke down Roland's stroke into how he swims when he sprints and how he swims during his workouts. I understand that the main concepts are the same, but my guess is that the way he kicks and uses his arms while racing 50m freestyle at the Olympics is a bit different than how he swims at regular training session.
- I also wished this video included few tips about Roland's dryland training routine.
Overall, this is a very useful video and I know my stroke have improved since I tried focusing on the points taught in this video, and if you want to cut a few seconds off your best sprint time, this video will show you what to focus on in your pursuit to do that. Since watching this video, I cut my 100m Free time by three seconds (in two months).
