As has been stated by this reviewer before, if you're looking for a negative review, about anything produced by NFL Films, from me, you are going to be looking for a long time. I am biased.
This 3-disc set is classic NFL footage. There are highlights from the 60s&70s, spiked with episodes of the "Lost Treasures" series. As opposed to Volumes 1-3 of this series, Volumes 4-6 do not feature "commentary" options, where you play a program and listen to Steve Sabol, of NFL Films, spin stories about what you are looking at. You know, I kind of miss that.
Anyway ... this three-volume set includes the incredible "Autumn Ritual" video from the 1980s. That alone makes the buy worthwhile.
Disc 04
Big Game America (Jim Marshall & Don Meredith)
Pro Football -- Pottstown, Pa.
Lost Treasures of NFL Films: Pottstown Revisted

Disc 05
More than a Game (Joe Kapp/Dick Butkus/Lou Saban/Willie Davis)
The Hunters (Walt Garrison/Carl Eller/Ben Davidson)
Autumn Ritual
Lost Treasures of NFL Films: The Me Decade
Disc 06
Eyeball to Eyeball
The Young, the Old, and the Bold (Quarterbacks)
Lombardi
Lost Treasures of NFL Films: Six Days to Sunday (Hank Stram/1976 Saints)
Just push play !!

NFL Greatest Games Series - 1985 Chicago Bears (2007) Review

I have watched all games from the set, here is what you get:
The video quality is great for games from 1985. The edits are minimal and appear to be related to cutting out any network related promos, or when they cut to the studio for highlights from other games. Also missing is the music. The NBC CBS and ABC music jingles are removed. Other than that though............... you get the complete network games with tv broadcasters, Summerall Madden, Dick Endberg, Frank Gifford, etc. There is some postgame stuff for the nfc championship and super bowl. Most games clock in between 2 and 2 1/2 hours, the super bowl is just under 3 hours. Outstanding! Also this is a 12 disc set, not 5 as this site advertises. these are the games
week 1 vs Tampa Bay
week 3 the thursday night game against Minnesota
week 4 the blowout of the Washington Redskins
week 5 at Tampa bay - close game
week 6 the revenge game against the San Francisco 49ers(my personal favorite)
week 7 the monday night game against Green Bay
week 11 the 44-0 game against the Dallas Cowboys
week 13 the monday night loss to Miami
week 16 the season ending game at Detroit
playoff win over the Giants
championship game win over the Rams
and the Super Bowl over the Patriots with post game ceremonies
I'm sure this set was priced to sell. I would have loved the other games from the season too, but I wont be nit picky. You get a lot here for your money. All Bears fans will be pleased with this. They could perhaps do another box set with the remaining games, super bowl shuffle, and Chicago Bears complete history, and America;s game! I will definately buy future releases of complete games from other nfl dynasties. But if you look closely, this set tells the story. The opening game, last gaem of the regular season, all monday night games, 1 game against each division opponent, The biggest games of the regular season, their only loss, their closest win of the season vs the bucs, and the entire postseason. FANTASTIC!
Someone please buy Sal Palantonio a copy of this set!
