(More customer reviews)The 2001 WWE King of the Ring was awesome. The KOTR (King of the Ring)tournament was exciting and the best part of this Pay Per View was that there was no regular match. In every match there was somethig on the line, either the chance to become the King of the ring or the WWE title or there was some kind of special match. There was no normal one on one match which gaurantees every match is gonna be exciting. Here are all the matches and how they were.....
#1 KOTR Semifinals: Christian vs Kurt Angle- Great opening match match. Real exciting because there was a time Christian had control over the match but lost it because of Shane McMahon.
#2 KOTR Semifinals: Edge vs Rhyno- Good match between two freinds. The great part of the match was Rhyno doing his Gore and Edge doing his spear at the same time to each other.
#3 WWE Tag Team Champioship: Dudley Boyz vs Spike Dudley & Kane- A good tag title match. It was great for spike because it was the first time he fought his brothers on a ppv. Plus what happened after the match was awesome.
#4 KOTR Finals: Kurt Angle vs Edge- Another great match between two frends. Kurt Angle proved he had what it takes to become the King of the Ring but in the end it was Edge who was the victor mainly because of Shane McMahon's interfearence. Because of that, the upcoming Street Fight between Kurt Angle and Shane Mcmahon became more exciting to see.
#5 WWE Light Heavywieght Championship: X-pac vs Jeff Hardy- good match between two lightheavyweights and the ending was not dissapointing.
#6 Confrontation: DDP & Undertaker (not a match)- For weeks DDP was stalking Undertaker's wife all because he wanted to become famous and the Undertaker was being driven crazy not knowing who it was . And now that he knew, it was time for him to unleash all his fury on him which was exactly what he did. So many weapons were being used and Taker sure did make DDP famous.
#7 Street Fight: Kurt Angle vs Shane McMahon- For weeks, Shane McMahon had been making Kurt Angle's life a living hell. McMahon had accused Kurt Angle of stalking Taker's wife which Taker took really seriously on Kurt. And after costing him the KOTR, Kurt must have really been looking foward to this match. Well hte match was real good. Lots of weapons, brutality and blood was in this match. Shane was even thrown threw glass (More then once!!)The Angle Slam of the top rope was sweet.
#8 WWE Championship Triple Threat match: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Y2J (Chris Jericho) vs Chris Benoit- An Awesome match considering the fact that Benoit and Y2J were friends and double teamed against Austin and that the whole rivary started when Benoit & Y2J took the tag titles from Steve Austin and HHH. The match was great because Y2J and Benoit eventually fought and weapons were even used and Benoit even his Stone Cold with a Stunner!!!. A great thing was that WCW Champion Booker T made his debut in this match and did something very cool to Austin 3:16. Although good stuff happened the ending of the match was dissapointing.
As you cn see all the matches were real good and exciting. i gaurantee anybody who buys this will love it. GET IT!!!!

ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) - Wrestlepalooza '97 Review

(More customer reviews)This was a major ECW event that was held back in May of '97 to set up for their next PPV (ala WCW's Clash Of The Champions or WWF's Saturday Night's Main Event) and Rick Rude joined Joey Styles on commentary for the main event matches.
Television Champion Shane Douglas vs. Chris Chetti - The best part of this match was the prematch promo when Shane Douglas completely buried the Philadelphia Flyers for being "swept" in the Stanley Cup finals. Besides that, it was an average wrestling match that went around 7 minutes but Chetti was impressive for being a rookie at this time.
The Pitbulls vs. F.B.I. - This was nothing more than a comedic tag team match as most of the F.B.I.'s matches were as Guido & Smothers got in their comedic spots before the Pitbulls beat them with their power moves.
Dudley Boyz vs. Sandman & Balls Mahoney - This was an enjoyable just a brawl from bell to bell.
ECW Champion Terry Funk vs. Chris Candido - Before the match, there was an emotional speech by Stevie Richards who had a neck injury & had to forfit the title shot. The match for the most part was dominated by Candido before Terry Funk pulled out the victory out of nowhere. A match that wasn't anything special but watchable.
Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven - Their final encounter & this match showcases what was great about the ECW enviroment...anywhere else you go in wrestling at this time, if you knew that a wrestler was leaving the company after a match, you know they were going to lose & put the other guy over but you weren't sure here still just based on the fact that Tommy never beat Raven for over 2 years. The had fighting through the crowd & all around the arena & Raven using all of his tactics & members of his nest to stop Dreamer who just wouldn't be denied this time. ECW classic here but it got overshadowed by what happened after the match involved the returning "Mr. Monday Night", Jerry "The King" Lawler and the rest of the ECW locker room.

Taz vs. Sabu - This was the rematch from Barely Legal but this match was less than 10 minutes & was just a backdrop to the storyline that was being setup for the next match but it was a good match for the short time it had.
Television Champion Shane Douglas vs. Taz - After Douglas had been taunting Taz for the past couple of mins., they fought in a 3 min. challenge for the TV belt which Taz choked out Douglas to win the TV belt.
Tag Team Champions Eliminators vs. Dudley Boyz - Saturn had a torn ACL & was scheduled for surgery so Kronis fought this match alone & was beat up by the Dudleys a majority of the match with Saturn occassionally coming in to help him out but the ending to this match is something you would never expect concidering the circumstances.
This event had more plot twist and unexpected appearances that would crap on a majority of the WWE/WCW PPV's during that time period. If your a fan of a show that's worth your $$$ from top to bottom, this is highly recommended.

This DVD is available once again form ShopTNA.com at only $8, so why someone would pay $33 (as of 8/10/11) is beyond me. Take a look at my similar review of TNA Sacrifice 2005.

WCW: Great American Bash (2000) Review

1. Lt. Loco vs. Disqo for the cruiserweight title - suprisingly not a bad match, Loco was a good cw champ at this point in his 1st reign and Disqo was in the filthy animals. too short is 4:55 and a dumb finish to boot. RATING: **
2. KroniK vs. The Mamalukes - nobudy really cared about this match here and it's pretty stupid the only good thing about this match is Big Vito the rest suck. too long in almost 10 minutes and another stupid finish. RATING: *1/3
3. DDP vs. Mike Awesome - I like Awesome here and this is not a bad match and this is when Kanyon turns on DDP and gives him a kanyon cutter through the stage. RATING: **1/2
4. GI Bro vs. Shawn Staisiak - OH MY GODD!!!!!!!!!! what a stupid match. this was Booker T's worst point in this career and we know how boring Staisiak can be ecspecially in 15 minutes!!!!!!!!!! RATING: DUD
5. The Wall vs. The Franchise in a Tables Match - good match here!! nothin really terrible here RATING: ***
6. US Champ Scott Steiner vs. tank Abott and Rick Steiner - here are two words to explain this match: fast forward RATING: DUD
7. Hollywood Hogan vs. Billy Kidman - Hogan sux....we all know that and Kidman is awesome and Hogan would never job to anyone!! ecspecially Kidman.....terrible finish to a terrible match RATING: *
8. Ric Flair vs. David Flair - Good match here with the nature boy and his gay son!!!!!!!!!!!! we all know david flair can't wrestle if his life depended on it but his dad carried him here RATING: ***
9. hUMAN TORCH: Sting vs. Vampiro! - ughhhhhhhh...........cool idea for a match and it's pretty good match but I hope everybody knows that it was not Sting makin that stunt it was a stuntman..... RATING: ***1/2
10. WCW Champion Jeff Jarrett vs. Kevin Nash - boring match, this is when Goldberg makes the shocking swerve that nobody cared about. otherwise bad match RATING: *

WCW Uncensored 2000 (2000) Review

(More customer reviews)Well, let's be brief on this one. Uncensored is pretty good for a WCW PPV. But the attendance, even in a brand-new Florida arena, looks miserable. The chairs clearly are not filled, which is obvious all through the event. Still, Uncensored managed to be the typical plethora of unpredictable mayhem it's cracked up to be. Here are the matches.
CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE: THE ARTIST WITH PAISLEY(C) VS. PSYCHOSIS
Okay action, for the first match of the night, but the ending will make you roll your eyes so far up you'll probably go blind, so I would skip it if I were you. 5/10.
X.S. VS. SCREAMIN' DEMONS
Come on, now. This match belonged on Nitro, and even there it wouldn't have been good. Mercifully short, and we see Stacy Kiebler. So I can live with it. I think. 4/10.
BAM BAM BIGELOW VS. THE WALL
Wow! An actual storyline to a match! A bad one, but still a storyline. The Wall, Bigelow's protege, is destroying men left and right, such as David Flair and Crobar. He does the same to Bigelow tonight. And oh yeah, he also throws Crobar off the scaffolding 15 feet down through the stage, which was the best bump of the night..and the month...and probably the year so far. 6/10.
HARDCORE TITLE: 3 COUNT(CHAMPS) VS. BRIAN KNOBS
How do you make three men hardcore champion at once? Call it incompetent booking. Fortunately, this match was not so, as Knobs put the title back on his waist where it belonged. Actually some pretty decent hardcore spots, if you knew where to look. 5/10.
BOOKER AND KIDMAN WITH TORRIE WILSON VS. THE NEW HARLEM HEAT
Nice match, especially the ending. The New Harlem Heat is just an asinine concept, and a silly team as well. Big T, Stevie Ray's new partner, has definitely not been to Weight Watcher's. The Duchess of York could give him some advice. At least Big Fat Overweight T pulls his considerable load with the rest of the wrestlers. 5/10.
FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE: FIT FINLAY VS. VAMPIRO
I didn't know WCW was allowed to have matches this good. But this one raged through the ring, into the back--the bathrooms, the balcony, the commons area...the arena was a war zone. Not exactly a show-stealer, but it did better than expected. Vampiro deserved a push. 7/10.
TAG TEAM TITLES: THE MAMALUKES WITH DISCO INFERNO(C) VS. HARRIS BROS.
This was actually pretty good too. As good as WCW gets in tag team matches. You knew the match would end the way it did, but in between (the beginning and the middle) it kept you guessing. 7/10.
TEXAS BULLROPE MATCH: DUSTIN RHODES VS. TERRY FUNK
Unique match as well for WCW, and it worked, too. Not only was it funny, with Funk hitting Rhodes with a chicken from the grocery store and bringing out a guy in a chicken suit, but the bumps and cowbell shots were nice as well. Fittingly, Dustin proves the superiority of his family and end the legendary Rhodes-Funk family rivalry. 7/10.
LUMBERJACK CAST MATCH: THE TOTAL PACKAGE WITH ELIZABETH VS. STING
Both men bring out lumberjacks. It's actually a very good match, but the other wrestlers distract from the grace going on in the ring. Ending was a surprise. 7/10.
WORLD TITLE: SID VICIOUS(C) VS. JEFF JARRETT WITH nWo GIRLS
They can NOT be serious. A good match between these two could have brought the PPV up to its real standards, but it seems they weren't smart enough to pull it off. Scott Steiner comes back, and Hulk Hogan saves Vicious' ass big time. At least they didn't make this one main-event, or I seriously would have broken down in tears. 4/10.
APPLE PIE INDIAN STRAP MATCH: HULK HOGAN VS. RIC FLAIR
As they say, the last Hogan-Flair match--and it wasn't bad, either. Both men got busted open to some degree, and it was a little more physical than I'd suspected. Hogan is getting too old to wrestle; so is Flair. At least one of them picks up a decisive victory. (That would of course be Hogan.) Saves the event. 8/10.
