WWF: Survivor Series 2000 (2000) Review

This was the PPV where Rock collided against Rikishi, Undertaker battled Kurt Angle, and Stone Cold Steve Austin destroying Triple H. This wasn't the greatest Survivor Series, but it was much better than Survivor Series 99'. Some of the matches where dull while some where good, my reviews down below.
6-person intergender tag team match
T&A and Trish Stratus vs. Steve Blackman, Crash Holly and Molly Holly
Good opener with the crowd getting into this match, the women kind of ruined this match.
Survivor Series elimination match
Radicalz vs. Billy Gunn, Chyna, Road Dogg and K-Kwik
Fast paced action, but got slow towards the end.
Chris Jericho vs. Kane
Okay match, but a little bit boring. Their match at Armageddon was better.
WWE European title match
William Regal vs. Hardcore Holly
Short match, with a terrible ending.
Rock vs. Rikishi
Great match with a lot of action, pretty short though.
WWE Women's title match
Lita vs. Ivory
Pretty good, but the ending was a DUD.
WWE Championship match
Kurt Angle vs. Undertaker
Long and slow. This was a good match, but Kurt Angle slowed it down too much. Shocking ending though.
Survivor Series elimination match
Hardy Boyz and Dudley Boyz vs. Edge & Christian and Right To Censor
Better than the first elimination match at the beginning of the night with a lot more action and tables!
No Disqualification match
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Triple H
I was expecting this match to be real quick and with Austin beating the hell out of HHH, but instead this match turned out to be kind of slow. These two have had better matches and this wasn't it. The ending is pretty crazy.
So there you have it, this was an okay Survivor Series with a couple of good matches and some dull matches. Check out Survivor Series 2001.

WWF: Fully Loaded 1999 (1999) Review

WWF: Fully Loaded 1999 (1999)

The WWF did an excellent job on their July 1999 PPV event. Fully Loaded 1999 definitely surpassed the 1998 original. With 5 titles on the line, the action was hotter than ever. In the main event it was the First Blood-End of an Era match for the WWF Championship between Champion-Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker. Edge defends his newly won Intercontinental Title against former champ Jeff Jarrett. Tag Team Champions-The Hardy Boyz with Michael Hayes defend against the Acolytes. The European Title is up for grabs between Mideon and D-Lo Brown. For the Hardcore Title, Champion-Al Snow takes on the Big Boss Man. Also the Fully Loaded Strap Match between HHH and the Rock. The winner of this match becomes the #1 contender for the WWF Title. The battle for DX as Road Dogg Jesse James and X-Pac take on Chyna and the 1999 King of the Ring-Mr. Ass. A grudge match between Kane and the Big Show with Hardcore Holly as the special guest referee. Definitely a must-see event for any wrestling fan.

WWF: Judgment Day 2001 (2001) Review

WWF: Judgment Day 2001 (2001)

Judgment Day certainly was the most aggressive ppv thus far for 2001. With the less than impressive Backlash getting stinker ratings, the WWF obviously tried to pick up the pace with Judgment Day, and they succeeded admirably. This was nothing short of an amazing ppv. The chain match, no holds barred match, tag team turmoil, hardcore match, and even the women's title match was a little impressive (if you pause it just right, you'll see a clear blooper on Chyna's outfit). All in all, excellent, solid, and entertaining. Here are the matches:
1. William Regal vs. Rikishi - great opener, Regal gets a stink face.
2. 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS (PINFALL, SUBMISSION, AND LADDER) Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit - another classic and runner up for best match of 2001
3. HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP Test vs. Big Show vs. Rhyno - solid and very hardcore, with an impressive gore from Rhyno.
4. WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Chyna vs. Lita - good match, not as disappointing as Chyna's WrestleMania and Royal Rumble matches.
5. INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP CHAIN MATCH Kane vs. Triple H - very brutal, a classic with a good ending. This is another runner up for match of 2001.
6. TAG TEAM TURMOIL NO. 1 CONTENDER'S MATCH Acolytes vs. Radicalz vs. Dudley Boyz vs. X-Factor vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit vs. Edge & Christian - good match between seven great teams.
7. WWF CHAMPIONSHIP Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Undertaker - great main event, extremely brutal and entertaining No Holds Barred match. Get this tape as soon as its availible. Well worth the money. Hopefully, WWF will continue with more ppvs like these.

WWF: WrestleMania XV - The Ragin' Climax (1999) Review

WWF: WrestleMania XV - The Ragin' Climax (1999)

This DVD was a fantastic entry for the WWF into the DVD market. Most wrestling videos just give the replay of the entire event with a few extra behind the scenes thrown in, but this DVD packs much more then that.
It has quick biographies and photos of all the wrestlers who participated in the event (and even a few who didn't) as well as showing the entire event in high quality footage. The ability to just chapter skip to whatever match you whish to see is incredibly conveninet. Especially when compared to fast forewarding video tapes and wondering exactly where the match actually took place on the card.
In addition to being able to watch just a single match, or the whole un-interrupted event, there is a special section on the DVD which show the build up to the main matches on the PPV. You can see interviews and footage from RAW's which actually show how the match was built up.
The DVD is headlined by an electric performance by Stone Cold and the Rock. A fantastic hard core title match with one of the first wrestling debut's of Shane McMahon. The matches flow smoothly and delivered on some high action spots as well. The performance from everyone involved was top notch as you would expect from such an important wrestling event. The only match that didn't live up to the hype was the Big Bossman Vs. Undertaker Hell In A Cell match. Perhaps a bad gimic for both wrestlers to pull off together.
If you are a wrestling fan at all, watching wrestling on DVD is 100% more satisfying than video tapes. The WWF choose this PPV as their entry into the DVD market for good reason, it's matches, for the most part are crisp and awe inspiring. A must for any true wrestling fan.
