When my son went off to boot camp I bought this DVD to get a better idea of what he would be facing for the next 13 weeks. This is a GREAT documentary and I highly recommend it. It takes you from the yellow footprints to graduation in 68 minutes. If you are looking for insight into Marine recruit training this is great video.

Kyusho-jitsu Kenkyukai: Isshin-ryu Master Class Review

Kyusho-jitsu Kenkyukai: Isshin-ryu Master Class
Average Reviews:

These DVDs are by far the best Isshinryu Karate Bunkai I have ever seen. These DVDs cover all eight empty hand Kata (performed the way Master Tatso Shimabuku intended) and their Bunkai focusing on pressure point techniques and (for lack of a better word) secret and/or hidden techniques. The DVDs are truly amazing - you get approx 3.5 hours of expert instruction! The katas now finally make perfect to me. I have been studying Isshinryu Karate for over 25 years and hold a 7th degree black belt myself. These are the real deal, not Master Uezu and Sensei Jennings' "bock them to death" applications. Master Thomas performs all of the Katas twice then performs a very thorough and detailed break down with multiple explanations for each technique. These DVDs are a must for anyone studying Isshinryu Karate or any style from Okinawa for that matter. The DVDs are very high quality and professionally produced. You will not be disappointed.

Isshin-ryu Karate is widely practiced, yet, there are few who have an accurate understanding of its use.In this DVD, reknowned instructor Chris Thomas presents a Master Class in the style's empty-hand methods. The program contains superb demonstrations of the eight kata, as well as a thorough and astonishing treatment of bunkai (kata application).

Skip Prosser: Competitive Rebounding Drills (DVD) Review

Skip Prosser: Competitive Rebounding Drills (DVD)
Average Reviews:

Coach Prosser's video -- which appears to be filmed at a coaching clinic -- is an excellent resource for anybody that wants to have a better rebounding team.
He starts with telling about his own story -- the different teams and different levels he's coached at. The guy is an entertaining storyteller, and I enjoyed all his little anecdotes. It went on for a while, but I think if you're getting impatient you can easily fast-forward.
The drills themselves are valuable teaching tools, and Prosser's explanations are clear and concise. Most importantly, I can see these drills being useful at a wide variety of levels.
I highly recommend this video. It is an example of excellent teaching, and is very well thought out.

This tribute to PSU is beautifully crafted and seasoned with bits of unusual information. Found myself thinking, "I didn't know that!", and "Isn't that interesting". It's worth watching more than once as there is alot to see and alot to learn. Patrick Mansell has a sensitive style to his subject.

I used this to integrate Bill's offense at the JV level in high school. Easy enough but will take a few years to implement as a system... This is a chalk talk session...so you really have to sit down with notes to get the full effect. Try Jes-Soft Basketball playbook (free) to document Bill's diagrams and your set...

Manchester United Eleventh Heaven: Season Review 2003-2004
Average Reviews:

As a United fan, of course I was disappointed with the trophyless season, not to also mention the lack of goals scored. I guess that is why there wasn't so many great "highlights" this past season. But I bought this DVD anyway. There is a lot of focus on Wayne Rooney, but I didn't find his press conference to be that interesting as a special feature. Let's hope United do well next year so that there will be alot more highlights to the season.

The Lakers 1988 NBA Championship, the "Back-to-Back", made good on Coach Pat Riley's promise from the previous year. The video itself is packed with memorable game highlights and exclusive player interviews, and accurately chronicles the "Showtime" team's journey leading-up to their Playoffs and Finals victories. The accompanying music and narration by the legendary Chick Hearn are also a treat, making this video a must-have for Lakers fans - but also highly recommended for the
basketball or sports enthusiast.

Shelter Review

This is the third installment in the moonshine conspiracy series, and possibly the best. Threads together a series of moving, inspiring stories, with good footage, all under the auspices of renting out a shack in Oz with your buddies and surfing empty peaks, and shaping boards. Not your typical surf "hack and attack" 30 minute montage, but will probably get you more amped for a lifetime of surfing and surf culture. Makes you proud to be a part of the sport and way of life. check it out, I highly recommend it. Especially if you liked thicker than water, september sessions, or brokedown melody. Oh, and did I mention a great soundtrack-->Mason Jennings, Jon Swift, White Buffalo, etc.

Charlie Rose with John Richardson; Richard Corliss and Janet Maslin, John Feinstein (December 18, 1996)
Average Reviews:

Richardson speaks with Charlie Rose about the second volume of his monumental Picasso biography. This focuses on the years 1907-17. According to Richardson these are the years of Picasso's greatest and most revolutionary contribution to Art History. 'Demoiselles d'Avignon' is the cubist masterpiece which Richardson says marks the watershed, begins the new era in modern painting. Richardson also talks about Picasso's desire to be a great heroic revolutionary figure, his changing his whole mode of life and activity in accordance with the woman in his life at the time. Richardson speaks especially strongly about Picasso's paintings of Dora Maar which he considers great masterpieces of suffering, on the level of Van Gogh's greatest work.

Damn Good Dog a Dogumentary About Uga the Beloved Mascot for the University of Georgia Bulldogs Review

Damn Good Dog a Dogumentary About Uga the Beloved Mascot for the University of Georgia Bulldogs
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This comprehensive survey of the history of the University of Georgia's famed mascot is not just for fans or alumni of UGA--I recommend it to anyone interested in the history of college athletics in general and of the South over the last sixty or seventy years. The filmmakers cover every aspect of the mascot UGA's history and then some, interviewing not just the obvious participants--former UGA football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley, former UGA and professional football star Herschel Walker, and of course UGA's owner, Sonny Seiler, and his family--but also so many other interesting "characters," major and minor, who have had some contact or involvement with UGA (the school and/or the dogs)--John Berendt and Lady Chablis of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" fame, the cartoonist Jack Davis (who provided the wonderful opening credits and other artwork for the documentary), even the photographer who snapped the famous image of UGA trying to bite an Auburn player who had just scored a touchdown against the Bulldogs. In addition, the documentary contains a lot of great archival film, video, and photographs of the Seilers and their dogs, the Bulldogs football team and its coaches, the UGA campus, and the cities of Athens and Savannah. Voiceover narration conveying the "thoughts" and "observations" of the mascots themselves provides additional humor. And the bulldogs are really adorable, of course, and not just when they're puppies.
It's obvious the folks who made this film have great affection for the subject of their documentary, and they successfully convey the joy and excitement that the mascots have brought to their owners, friends, and fans--and also the deep sadness that the whole Seiler family has felt at the passing of each bulldog mascot (there have been six UGAs so far).
The DVD includes additional features such as a short film about Jack Davis, who has drawn the UGA mascot for many years (and whose artwork will be familiar to anyone who has read MAD magazine during the last half-century), and a look at Davis's work process in creating the animation for "Damn Good Dog"'s opening credits.

I am 29yrs old and have played baseball all my life. I've been playing slowpitch for about 18 months and had never hit a home run in my life in either sport. The same day that I watched this DVD I hit THREE. The DVD is old and the equipment on it is outdated but the instruction is right on the sweet spot.

While all of the instruction is demonstrated on long boards, this is still very pertinent for an entry-level to moving on range of instruction. The emphasis on mast foot pressure--mostly ignored by other books and videos--helped me get in the straps for the first time. I particularly liked the style, light-hearted without trying to be phony surfer dude cool. I'm trying hard to find the follow on.

Highland Games Throwing and Weight Training Collection Review

Highland Games Throwing and Weight Training Collection
Average Reviews:

Good examples of lifting and throwing techniques, although very poor quality video. The weight training video is much better quality. My main complaint is that there is no advise on how to train, when to train, how much to train. If all you need are videos on how to perform the movements then these are great, but I think most people who feel they need these videos could use some advise on training regiments and some basic workout routines.
