American Ninja (1985) Review

(More customer reviews)I watched this film earlier today and you know what? For being 20 years old this movie holds up remarkably well. Much better than the previous year's NINJA III: THE DOMINATION, which was instantly dated thanks to the FLASHDANCE influence.
New recruit Michael Dudikoff unwillingly gets mixed up in some illegal arms transaction between crooked Army brass and a group of ninjas. He also accidentally arouses the lustful attention of the Colonel's hot tan daughter! But before he can make sweet love he's got to stop the evil ninja clan!
Some reviewers mention this as a "guilty pleasure" I disagree. With great fight scenes, icky sound effects every time somebody gets stabbed, a fun story and a energetic performance by Steve James there's no way you can classify this as a guilty pleasure. It's too good for that.
Judie Aronson who plays Dudikoff's hot girlfriend gets naked a few times in FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER.

Deadly Bet (1992) Review

(More customer reviews)Jeff Wincott is a hardcore gambler who is about to leave Vegas, but not without paying off a debt he owes. When he pays it off he ends up getting bullied into a fight. He loses the fight, his money, and his girlfriend.
Ugh, this movie is pretty bad. Everything is predictable, and the acting by the girlfriend is horrible. The only good thing is Jeff Wincott. He gives a good acting performance, and like always he shows some great emotion in his fight scenes. There are a ton of fights in this movie, but none are really good. Gary Daniels gets a decent cameo fight, but the only fight I liked was the finale. Not even the finale was that good, but it picks up by the end of it. So in short, I recommend passing on this movie unless you are a really huge fan of Jeff Wincott.

Picture quality on the Madacy DVD is decent. Best thing about this DVD is that it has 45 minutes of trailers.

Capoeira is an excellent martial arts that I use for strength, flexibility, cardio, and keeping great shape. In addition to being fun and compelling, this DVD also presents techniques, that once mastered, can be extremely lethal moves. This video is worth the cost; it also has great extras that make it interesting to watch. Enjoy!
